Artist Statement
Inspired by the diary-like films of Jonas Mekas, notably, Walden 1970, life and film merge into one another narrating the passage of time with sound and cinema. Working intuitively with original archive and recent footage, I composed a combination of poetic and experimental cinematic conventions that capture beauty in the banalities of daily life; simple routine, weather, plants, objects, loved ones. (Kristic, 2017 p.98)
Influenced by the cinematography and sound design of Andre Tarkovsky I designed long scenes of nature that occupy length and depth. Observation of environment, through the isolation and enhancement of sound and image conjure atmosphere inspiring meditation and revere. (Foster, 2010 p. 313)
Moved by the energetic and ambitious Czech new wave classic Daisies 1966 from Věra Chytilová; I organised fast paced surrealist collage experiments that emerge as episodic vignettes. (Rapold, 2012) Following the rhythm of  the footage and sound I share fractions of life threading music and cinema to resonate temporality.
