Poem
I’m from roots and yellow Pyrex,
from incense and magic
I’m made of black and white tiles,
paw prints and lightning
I’m from flowers and dusk skylines
where my mother still walks

Artist Statement
Influenced by the diary-like films of Joans Mekas I have shot domestic and social scenes reflecting the early subjects of the Lumiere brothers. (Grunberg, A 1989, p2.) I wanted to show the warmth in lighting and duality of natural and domestic repetition of my world and the magic that I came from; highlighting the peculiarities and tensions that exist both in nature and in relationships. I was conscious on capturing the passing of time, using close ups and mid-shots that explore beauty and discomforts urging viewers to invest authenticity and time. (Pedersen, Shoot, 2007).
