Screen media stems for me from a cheesy small town girl story. Brown curly hair, single mother, dog lover and drinker of stories. Particularly the ones that you can see, that move. Mum and I watched movies to escape our small town lives, revealing people and places I had never seen and the possibilities of what I could be.
I grew up believing I would slay vampires like Buffy, go to Harvard like Rory Gilmore, draw and live in a Ghibli world all while solving the Laura Palmer murder.
My mother led the way down the yellow brick road past Bate's motel dancing and running with Anna Karina through Paris before arriving at Tara.

Traveling is irritating to me, but not driving," American artist Ed Ruscha once said. "Going to the airport makes me nervous, but when I set out to just take a leisurely drive, it's blue skies and puffy clouds and time."
